What is Being Done?

What is being done???

You really hear a lot about how people try and say that Global Warming is a minor issue, but the facts seem to prevail. When everyone looks at global warming as a whole, they will start to figure out that if everyone does at least one thing to help contain the growing problem, we can make a huge imapct on the environment! Many things that you and I could do to help out the environment is:

1. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

There are a lot of opportunities to recycle. Why don't we? There are a lot of problems with garbage "overload" and there are many ways that the trash could have been disposed of properly.

2. Use Less Heat and Air Conditioning

Carbon Dioxide is emmited into the atmosphere each time an AC or heater is being used. Setting your thermostat just 2 degrees lower in winter and higher in summer could save about 2,000 pounds of carbon dioxide each year.

3. Use the "Off" Switch

With the use of electronics and everything that needs to be plugged in, there is a lot of energy getting used up. If you take the time to turn appliances and electronics off after use, it will definitely benefit the environment.

4. Drive Smart and Drive Less

With the increase in the population, more and more people will need to depend on motor vehicle to get them from point A to point B. There will also be a bigger demand for oil and everything else that people need to make the car run efficiently. There are newer, cleaner vehicles getting made to help with the problem of more emissions.

5. Encourage Others to Conserve

If more people decided to make the choice of encouraging other people to conserve and use less, there will be less stuff getting wasted.

What is your position in the climate crisis and what do you think we should do to slow down the effects of it. Also, what should be added to this site in your opinion to make people more aware of the growing problem.

What is the Greenhouse Effect?
- it is essential for life and is one of earths life processes.
- it is the result of heat absorption by certain gases in the atmosphere.
- they are called greenhouse gases because they effectively trap heat in the lower atmosphere and causes re-radiation downward of some of the heat.

Is the Climate Warming?
- global surface temperatures have increased about 0.74degrees Celsius over the past 50 years.

(1) - It is a project for our environmental science course. This is our final project and it is my job for my group to create a blog based on the topic chosen- which is you guessed it- Global Warming.
(2) - This site will inform anyone and everyone that visits this site of the growing threat of Global Warming. We all need to step in and focus on the main goal and that is to slow down this process.

(3) - This site is going to be focused on finding out the facts and the scientific data to see if in fact Global Warming is a s bad as Al Gore and all the other scientists say it will be. I will make sure to get info from both sides of the "aisle" to bring you the research and evidence of the growing threat.

So, I will begin to work on this site regularly and add more info up as needed.
My group members for this group is me( David ) , Joespeh, Areal, and Peter.

OUR MAIN GOAL WITH THIS BLOG

Our group project is in its earliest stages at this point. We have focused entirely on one subject and that is global warming. Everyone in our group is participating trying to get this thing going and making it a success. At this point and time, we have not met outside of class time but I do see that as a future plan. With our group discussing the variety of ideas and how we can present them, we are making progress as a group in the sense that we have an idea already as to what we are going to do. The topic that we have chosen is global warming, a heated topic that is really important. We chose this topic because with more research and a good presentation, we can show others the facts and let them become aware of this growing problem. Obviously, issues such as and dealing with global warming are important to me and my group. We are looking into ways that we can present this topic to others to show the growing threat to our Earth. We are thinking about creating a web page and a blog all in one to present this topic. We think this will be a great way to present this topic because it will be available to others with a click of the mouse. We also might create a power point that we can scroll through during the presentation. This is going to take a lot of steps to complete and it will take a lot of hard work. We are all committed to creating a project that will not only show the facts and details of our topic, but also to make people aware of the threat and to show ways we can all slow the process down. I along with the rest of my group will need each other to be consistent in their efforts to create a stunning project and to show 120% effort in the work that we all do. We will also need you to be able to be there to help us if we get stuck and to be able to give us suggestions in the work that we do since you probably know more about this topic than we do. At this point, we as a group have no evidence for our topic yet. We are working towards getting evidence and getting research that will move us into the right direction. My only concern for this project is getting it all done on time and making it a project that will impact the people watching. This project will be a great one in the sense that it will not only teach others about the topic we are presenting, but it will also teach me and my group as well. This is a great way to learn about our environment.
